Erin & Fawn - A Sunny Scouse Wedding Celebration at The Art School - Liverpool Wedding Photography

I’ve heard it said
That people come into our lives
For a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return

Well, I don’t know if I believe that’s true
But I know I’m who I am today
Because I knew you

Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I’ve been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for good
— Wicked by Stephen Schwartz

Saturday was hot, muggy, and absolutely perfect for Erin & Fawn’s Liverpool wedding celebration. As a wedding photographer who loves shooting in Liverpool, I’ve witnessed so many beautiful love stories, but this one had something extra special: two soulmates returning home after six years living in New Zealand to celebrate their love in the city where it all began.

Although they’re both Scouse born and bred, Erin & Fawn were actually already married — they tied the knot on a mountaintop in New Zealand in an intimate ceremony just the two of them. This weekend, though, was all about celebrating that commitment with the people who matter most, and it couldn’t have been more heartfelt.

The day began at the exquisite Art School Restaurant, tucked away in Liverpool’s bustling theatre district. With just 22 of their closest family and friends, Erin & Fawn hosted an intimate lunch, where the food (unsurprisingly) was centre stage — Fawn is a chef, after all! The seasonal feast was as beautifully curated as the love in the room. There were tears, laughter, and some of the most emotional speeches I’ve ever heard. Photographing these moments in such an elegant, refined setting was a joy — soft window light, rich textures, and raw, happy emotion everywhere I turned.

After lunch, we wandered the local streets for portraits. The theatre district offered the perfect mix of character and colour — and being theatre lovers themselves, Erin & Fawn were in their element. From tucked-away doorways to grand façades, we embraced the humidity and had a laugh along the way (with the help of some impromptu hand-fanning and dress-flapping between shots!).

Then it was on to Osqa Function Suites, where nearly 150 more guests were waiting to celebrate with the newlyweds. And wow — what a party! From emotional reunions to dance floor chaos, the energy was unreal.

Liverpool weddings always have their own rhythm, but Erin & Fawn’s was a masterclass in making a celebration truly personal. It was a privilege to be a part of such an honest, joyful day, and to photograph two people so clearly adored by everyone around them.

If you’re looking for a Liverpool wedding photographer to capture your day with warmth and authenticity — I’d love to hear your story.
